Courses and Qualifications

/ Level 2 Award In Wines & Spirits

The Level 2 Award In Wines & Spirits is an introductory level qualification intended for those who would like to know more about the absorbing business of wines and spirits, whether they are people who require a basic level of product knowledge to underpin job skills and competencies, or just love to share in the glories of wine as part of their lives as entertainers of their friends and family. For those involved in the hospitality industry; whether in customer service, sales functions, in the retail or wholesale supply industries, these skills are essential.

Upon successful completion of the course you will be able to interpret the somewhat mystical labels of fine wines and spirits, give basic guidance on appropriate selection and service, as well as knowing the principals of wine tasting and evaluation. In short; serve the customer better or be a better host.

3-Day Course - The course is taught over a period of three days and includes 14 hours home study. This is facilitated by access to our web based distance learning course and the official WSET study guides. The exam will take place on the final days training and consists of a closed book examination of one hour’s duration, consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions.
